Claris FileMaker 2024 - Discovering new features
Companies release new versions of software all the time. One of the issues we may face as developers is that not everything is documented and the "marketing spin" might not provide all the technical details. In this video I showcase how I go about the process by performing and ad hoc discover of some of the new features in the Claris FileMaker 2024 release.

Single best investment
I think my subscription was the single best investment that I ever made. :) I Love these behind-the-scenes videos.
I am sad that I can't use Postgresql DBs as an external data source if I run Filemaker Server on Linux. Do you have any recommendations? (It's not even a lot of data, but it's crucial enough. Just a few tables.)
MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite... You sure can.
You absolutely can connect to your favorite open source database. Just use an ODBC driver and connect away. This will get you started.

FMS on Linux
Maybe I am missing something. I am talking about Linux-hosted Filemaker Server. Based on this page: https://support.claris.com/s/answerview?anum=000023433&language=en_US it is still not supported.
I have a test Ubuntu 22.04. In Linux (OS level) I was able to connect to the DB. But when I select the DSN in Filemaker I get the following message: "The ODBC data source you have selected is not supported."
