The FMCartProj plug-in converts geographical coordinates between diferent coordinate systems. Useful for;
• database solutions that you want to conect to GIS systems,
• to present your data with maps from different internet map providers as GoogleEarth (uses Decimal-degrees), or maybe a WMS map provider that uses UTM or NAD,
• to present your locations as a POI file (Point of Interest) to load into your GPS Navigator,
• to make KML-file export from your FileMaker database to present your data-set in GoogleEarth?
Maybe you collect a data-set from various sources with coordinates given in old and new systems or different zones. No problem with FMCartProj. Just fill in the north and east field, choose the in- and the out coordinate systems and the conversion is done in your next script step. FMCartProj plug-in makes it easy to switch between the coordinate systems you need for any purpose.
FMCartProj is based on the Open source Proj4 and made accessible for FileMaker developers so they can enhance their solutions with many new map oriented services.
The conversion accuracy between most coordinate systems varies between 0-0,7m.
